Jean, Danny, Adam and family. We are sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I remember the first time I met Dan. Our oldest son Gordo came home all excited wanting to sign up for baseball. We learned that we had missed the registration dead line but got a number to call, It was Dan. I called and he gave me his address and said come on over, we'll make it happen. His sense of humor and laugh will always be remembered by all who knew him. You Are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Jean & Family,
Big Dan ... he was an amazing person. His demeanor, fun loving attitude--always SMILING and high spirits..made my day!! He would call me on my birthday...sing his song...and when I called him...of course, he appreciated it even though I couldn't sing! He would laugh and say that he loved it anyways. I looked for Dan every year at the Chili Feed, RBR and whenever I was out riding...He is the kind of person you want to be around all the time. Everyone LOVED him!!! I am so sad for your family, losing Big Dan has certainly made me realize life is short...do whatever you can!! Big Dan you will be so missed...so very much! May your family find peace...and know that he is loved very much!!

Dan was the very best friend to my mothers late husband Woody Blesi. Dan was a phenomenal character, friend and brother to anyone he came in contact with. He will be sadly missed by so very many. His laugh, his beautiful smile and cordial demeanor were traits all knew him by. Jean and his family will remain in my prayers. I sat the other day on my bike, in the garage and thought about Woody, holding his dog tags in my hand, I am certain I almost heard him and Big Dan laughing.

Although I didn't know him as well as l would have liked, Big Dan was always very friendly whenever I stopped in to PI stuff. He had a sympatico ear and could always put a smile on my face, no matter how tough of a day either of us might have been having! He was a genuinely nice person and will be dearly missed by those who had the good fortune to have known him! I am truly saddened that we've lost someone like that. My sincerest condolences to his family!

Dan, your positive outlook and love of music were an inspiration to me to continue to playing drums during a very dark period in my life. I still have the disc of blues songs performed by your band that you freely gave to me in my car. May the light that you cast upon so many continue to burn in our hearts. God bless you and your family, and all of the people you reached out to, you will be missed by many.

Extreme sadness hit me when I heard of Dans unexpected passing from us. My deepest sympathies to Jean & the rest of the family, he was very proud of all of you & always talked of the gang. He was also very vocal and proud of his band, & I am glad I got to see it a few times watching him in action.
There also were proud & fun times playing Poker tourny's with him, woody, & the rest of the crew. He always had a smile on his face when he reminded me of the Vegas trip we took with Woody, we were at Mandalay Bay in a Poker Trny., & suddenly a Massage Gal started rubbing his shoulders giving him a massage. He sat back and enjoyed it, esp., when he found out it came from me. What a great time.
Dan, RIP, you will be sadly missed by all who knew you & loved you

I'm so sorry to hear the news of Dan's passing; throughout my career he was always that smiling, joking and conversational co-worker that I could count on when arriving at the Property and Evidence Unit. Dan will be greatly missed by the MPD.

I am so shocked and heartbroken to hear of Dan's passing. All my love to Jean and the family. Dan was a truly amazing pillar of the community. Never had I met anyone as positive, kind and energetic as Big Dan. I imagine that he came into this world with that smile and hope he left with it. All who were lucky enough to have known him are blessed. He was a beautiful person.

I was so surprised to hear of Dan's passing. Dan trained me in when I started with the Minneapolis Police Property and Evidence Unit and then after Dan left the Unit and went to the Water Works for a few years, he came back in the Property Unit again and I did a little retaining for Dan. Dan lived his life and worked with some different attics, but we always had respect for each other. Dan, you will be missed dearly by all your loved one and many of your old co-workers. Rest in Peace Dan.

Big Dan,
How shocking the news was for me when I heard you had gone to be with Woody. I know you two are kicking it together and most likely God is wondering what in the world is going on :)
I can honestly say, I have not met a man who was more proud of his family than you! I have NEVER heard you speak a bad word towards any of them. That in itself is remarkable as we all know people get mad and say things, but not Big Dan.
I also know without a doubt that you were so VERY PROUD of your sons and their children. You always spoke highly of your boys and I can still see the lights in your eyes sparkle when talking about the Grandchildren. Oh so very proud you were.
Gino you will mess Dan the rest of your life, but know this, he is with you always and will be looking out for you. Again I have never met a man so happy after so many years with the wife he choose.
Dan was truly a kind soul even to the people who didn't like him. Which is only two that I can think of. My hope is these two people can now see just how wonderful you were and that you hold no grudges. I am sure Dan that you would want them to learn that good, bad or indifferent, people need to be treated respectfully as you did to all the people you met!!!
You owe me a ride on your Harley and I plan on collecting that debt when I arrive in heaven, so be prepared.
I have said this before and I will say it again, God sure knows how to pick his new angels!!!
Dan I am glad I got to know you and see what a gentle and giving person you were.
Rest in Peace Big Dan I will think of you often.

My deepest condolences to Dan's family...everytime I walked into the MPD Property Room there was Dan always smiling and making his funny jokes. And of course we did the usual trivia challenge of which he would always win!! RIP Dan...you will be missed by all of us...
