Corinne A. Moen
Corinne A. Moen age 98 of Menomonie, died Sunday January 4, 2015 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
Corinne was born November 21, 1916 in Kaukauna to Theodore P. and Paula E. (Matenaer) Seggelink She was seriously ill with scarlet fever at the age of six and missed so much school that she repeated first grade. She learned to play piano as a young girl. In order to graduate from high school with her friends, she took a heavey schedule and attended summer classes and graduated in three years. With the intention of teaching, Corinne attended Normal School. There were no teaching positions available, so she accepted a position as secretary to an attorney in Kaukauna. Corinne enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
On June 11, 1945 she married Arthur Milton Moen at Fort Pierce in Florida while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. After the service they moved to Boyceville and Corinne worked in an Insurance office. They later moved to Menomonie where she worked in an Abstractor’s office and in the business office at Stout State College. They moved to Minneapolis where Corinne worked as Secretary at Columbia Heights State Bank and then worked for eleven years in the libraries of Columbia Jr. and Central Jr. High Schools. After they both retired, they moved back to Menomonie, to their lake home on Tainter Lake. In 1990 they moved into the city of Menomonie.
Corinne and Art where very active in their retirement, they loved fishing, feeding the birds, playing cards and working in their garden. They were active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.
Corinne is survived by her son Dave (Anne) of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Mary (Ron) Dass; Christopher Moen; Stephanie Anderson; Michael (Tricia) Moen; Suzy (Fiancé` Dave Dahlmeier) Moen; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois (Vern) McMillan of Huntsville, AL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Art in 2004, a daughter Mary Ann Moen in 2003; two sisters, Iva Seggelink and Rosemary Godschalx.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Wednesday January 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at a later date.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
