Died: June 14, 2008 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand
Mary was the daughter of John and Lillian (Stein) Wayne. Mary was born in St. Paul, MN. She lived in various locations in Wisconsin with her family before they moved to Durand in 1941. She married Jack Buchholtz May 20, 1946. All who knew Mary will miss her sparkling smile, her caring spirit and her welcoming hospitality. She was a lifelong learner, forever enjoying a new experience or project. Mary was a seamstress and upholsterer along with being co-owner of Buchholtz Construction. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. During WWII she worked at an ammunitions factory in Eau Claire. She was a bus driver for the Durand Bus Service for many years
Mary is survived by her children, Jackie (Jack) Peterson of Tony, Jerry (Peggy) Buchholtz of Durand, Marylou (Charlie) Hoesly of Hastings, MN, Judy (John) Parr of Durand, 11 grandchildren, 14, great grandchildren, five brothers, Donald Wayne of Kellogg, MN, Roy Wayne of Downsville, Jonathan “Bill” Wayne, Robert Wayne and James Wayne, all of Durand, four sisters, Helen Prissel of Durand, Dorothy McMahon of Eau Claire, Eleanor Johnson of Minneapolis, MN and Hazel Swanson of New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack and two brothers, Harvey and Earl Wayne.
