Carson R. Timblin

Pastor Carson R. Timblin age 79 of Plum City, formerly of Birchwood died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home in Plum City with his family by his side.

Carson was born on February 3, 1935 in Barron. He was the son of John Edward and Pearl Elizabeth (McManus) Timblin. Carson grew up in the Barron area and graduated from Barron High School in 1953. After high school, Carson moved to Wyoming to work on a ranch for several years. Carson returned to marry Evelyn Parent on March 14, 1956 in Pine City, MN. After marriage they moved to Boyceville where they raised their family and Carson worked in the agriculture and electrical industries. In 1973, Carson went back to school graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts from UW-Stout. In 1978, the family moved to Soldier’s Grove where Carson attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary where he received his Master’s Degree in Divinity. Carson served in many of the rural Methodist Churches in Wisconsin, retiring in 1997 from the Bloomer and New Auburn United Methodist Churches. Upon retirement, Carson and Evelyn moved to their home in Birchwood where Carson served the Township of Edgewater as the Town Chairman for many years. Recently they re-located to rural Plum City.

Carson was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, hunting, camping and fishing. He learned to fly and built airplanes. Carson enjoyed ministering to people, especially children. Most of all, Carson loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Carson is survived by his wife of 58 years; Evelyn, three sons; Allan (Marylou) of Webster, Galen of Appleton and Joel (Becky) of Plum City, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother; Gaylord “Tim” (Mary) of Washington, three sisters; Edwina Eby of Georgia, Peggy Timblin of Utah and Edie Timblin of Ohio, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson; Jon Timblin and one brother; Dale.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw, WI. Pastor Dan Richardson will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church in Carson’s name.
