Agnes A. Legge

Agnes A. Legge age 89 of Menomonie, died peacefully on Monday December 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by her family.

Agnes was born May 31, 1925 in Eau Claire.  She was the daughter of Louis and Louisa (Friedl) Wolf.  At the age of seven she moved with her family to the Township of Dunn, the Louisville area of Dunn County, where she grew up on the family farm and attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School.  Agnes married Earl H. Legge November 16, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.  After marriage Agnes and Earl bought and operated the family farm and continued farming until they retired in 1978.  They continued living out the rest of their lives on the family farm.  Earl died on August 25, 1992. 

Agnes was always around for anyone who was in need.  She enjoyed cooking, making homemade soup and baked beans.  She was an active member of St. Joseph Church, especially cooking in the church hall for various events, making baked beans and potato salads.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Agnes is survived by two daughters, Judy Boughton of Ontonagon, MI; Janet (Dennis) Manor of Menomonie; six grandchildren, Kris (Jeff) Hoff, Beth (Greg) Stai, Kevin Manor all of Menomonie; Jeremiah (Katie) Boughton of Green Bay; Jeremy Sol of Menomonie; Patrick Boughton of Colfax; five great grandchildren, Mitch & Mikayla Stai; James & Andrew Hoff; Addie Boughton and one due now; a sister, Rose Johnson of Chippewa Falls and special friends, Jeff & Sandy Creaser of Menomonie and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, a son Richard, a son-in-law, Raymond “Skip” Boughton, two brothers, Anton and Frank, two sisters, Louise Murray and Minnie Hendrickson.

Memorial services will be 11:30 AM Friday December 19, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. John Mano officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
