Josephine A. Reinecke

Josephine A. Reinecke, age 99 of Menomonie, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Neighbors of Dunn County Care Center in Menomonie.

Josephine was born on July 30, 1915 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Charles and Anna (Weber) Hofacker. Josephine grew up in the Eau Galle area and attended school there. At a young age, her mother passed away and Josephine went to Elmwood and became the housekeeper for Dr. Frank Springer for many years. Josephine married Martin Reinecke on January 3, 1941 in Elmwood. Martin was drafted into the U.S. Army shortly after marriage and Josephine raised the family until he returned home. They then purchased a farm in the Town of Red Cedar where they continued to raise their family and farm. They retired from farming in 1968 and moved to the Town of Dunn. Josephine lived there until 2005 when she became a resident of the Dunn County Health Care Center, where she lived the rest of her life.

Josephine enjoyed crocheting, baking, camping and playing cards. Most of all, Josephine loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Josephine is survived by her children; Marion (friend Don) Neverdahl of Eden Prairie, MN, Joan (Ken) Gibson and Gale (Sheryl) Reinecke, both of Menomonie, seven grandchildren; Gary, Scott, Troy, Stacy (Sam), Andy, Wendy and Renee (Jason), six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Martin, one brother; Raymond Hofacker and one sister; Hester Mittlestadt.

Prayer Services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie. Pastor Kristine Stedje will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.

Condolences

  1. Mary Miller

I am so sorry for your loss. At John 11:41-43, Jesus cries out (Lazarus come on out) and the dead man came out. This account teaches us that the resurrection is real, not a mere myth. Yes you may see your loved one again soon. Please find some comfort from this, in your difficult days ahead.

  2. Stacy Hintzman
