Elvira A Hofmeister
Elvira A. Hofmeister, age 91 of Plum City,
Born: September 15, 1916
Died: June 10, 2008 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Elvira was born in the Town of Rock Elm, Pierce County. She was the daughter of Fredrick August William and Bertha Emma (Hartwig) Braatz. Elvira was baptized on the 3rd day of December in the year of our Lord 1916 and received her certificate of confirmation on the 24th day of May 1931 having been instructed in the doctrines taught and believed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church from Pastor R.C. Hillman. Elvira married Floyd Jacob Hofmeister on February 17, 1939 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Plum City by Pastor Louis Winter. After marriage, they lived one year at the Fred Braatz farm in the Rock Elm Township near Exile. They lived two years on the Herman Johnson farm in Union Township, two years on the Eric Newberg in Union Township. They later moved to the John Sand farm in the Town of Union where she remained the rest of her life
Elvira enjoyed gardening, reading, canning, and her farm, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Elvira is survived by her eight children, Joan (Norman) Odden of Bay City, Nancy (Philip) Tschumperlin of Lake Elmo, MN, Lois (Raymond) Zielkie of Red Wing, MN, Kay (Lawrence) Huppert of River Falls, Tim Hofmeister, Roger Hofmeister, Dawn Hofmeister and Becky Hofmeister all of Plum City, one daughter-in-law, Debby Hofmeister of Plum City, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two sisters, Edna (Robert) Rands of St. Paul, MN and Beverly (Carlos) Ward of Robertsdale, Al. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Jacob Hofmeister, two sons, Donald Floyd Hofmeister and Tom Allen Hofmeister, one sister, Lucy Rustad, her parents, Fredrick August William and Bertha Emma (Hartwig) Braatz and her grandparents, Fredrick and Augusta Braatz and Julius and Louise Hartwig.
