Fred L. Bagley

Fred L. Bagley 88 of Menomonie, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, MN died Monday November 3, 2014 at the Comforts of Home in Menomonie, surrounded by his family.

Fred was born October 16, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, IA.  He was the son of Wilbur and Mildred (Longeway) Bagley.  He grew up mostly in Minnesota, graduating from high school in Minneapolis.  Fred enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during WW II.  He married Lucille Ferlaak October 14, 1950 in Minneapolis.  Fred was called back into active duty during the Korean War. After the service he returned to Minneapolis where they lived until they moved to Hoyt Lakes, MN in 1957.  Fred worked for Erie Mining, later know as LTV Steel Mining Company, retiring in 1988.  In 2012 Fred and Lucille moved to Menomonie to be closer to family. Fred enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, canoeing, skiing, biking, golfing.  He also enjoyed woodworking and oil and water color painting.

Fred is survived by his seven children, Fred (Bonnie) of Whitefish, MT; Mary (Paul) Robinson of Onalaska; Cindy Close of Menomonie; Pat Bagley of Colorado Springs, CO; Pam (Scott) Houdek of Iowa City, IA; Chuck Bagley of Fishers, IN; Jennifer (Regi) Trotter of St. Joseph, MO; 12 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lucille in 2013, a brother Bill and two sisters; his twin sister, Laura Aseniero and Betty Johnson.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday November 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. John Mano officiating.  Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

    Your parents very special and raised a wonderful family! Our favorite baby sitters were Bagley's! (Scott is in St. Louis, MO and Tena in Northfield, MN)
    Your parents were also very welcoming when we moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1966! You have wonderful memories, I am sure! our sympathies to all of you.
