Harmon R. Larrabee

Harmon R. Larrabee age 85 of Menomonie, died Thursday October 30, 2014 at home of his daughter, in the Township of Spring Brook, rural Menomonie.

Harmon was born August 6, 1929 in the Township of Dunn, Dunn County.  He was the son of Jackson George and Esther Virginia (Guite) Larrabee.  In 1944 he moved with his family to Racine where he drove truck for Oaks Trucking Company, did construction work for Contemporary Builders and later worked as a Machinist at General Tool.  Harmon married Doris Robley October 20, 1953.  They lived in Racine until 1971 when they moved to the Township of Spring brook, Dunn County where they farmed and raised their family, and was active in Ministry.

Harmon enjoyed hunting, fishing, Pastoring, and being involved with nursing home ministry.

Harmon is survived by four children, Ronald C. Manring of Lamar, CO; Loretta Larrabee of Menomonie; Preston H. Larrabee of Racine; Debora S. Larrabee of Menomonie; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister, Zelphia Brensdal of Oregon; two brothers, John of Menomonie and Carl of Racine; and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris in 1993; two sisters, Isabell and Alvina; two brothers Lamont and Ruben.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday November 2, 2014 at the Forest Center Church of the Nazarene, Township of Spring Brook, rural Menomonie.  His grandson, Michael Larrabee will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Center Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

    I am so sad to see this piece of news and yet remember fondly my dealings with Harmon when I was a Cenex employee in Menomonie. Harmon was always a pleasant God fearing man and I enjoyed knowing him. The God who now holds him loves you all very much!
