Wendelin G. "Windy" Wolf
Wendelin G. “Windy” Wolf, age 84 of Menomonie, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Potter’s Country Home in Menomonie.
Windy was born on August 12, 1930 at home in the Town of Eau Galle, rural Dunn County. He was the son of Wendelin E. and Arcella “Sallly” (Simonson) Wolf. Windy grew up in the Eau Galle area and graduated from Durand High School in 1947. After high school, Windy farmed in Eau Galle and worked for the Dunn County Highway Dept. Windy married Beverly Bundy in 1952, together they had four children and later divorced. On October 1, 1982, Windy married Winnie (Miller) Stuart at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. After marriage, they lived in Eau Galle and made their winter home in Mesa, AZ for 16 years. They moved to Menomonie 1998 where Windy remained the rest of his life.
Windy enjoyed traveling, he visited almost every state in the country. He liked spending time with people and sharing stories.
Windy is survived by his wife; Winnie, four children; Greg (Marcia) of Elmwood, Mary Miller of Durand, Gayle Miljour of California and Shelly Wolf of Durand, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three brothers-in-law; Gerald (Naomi) Miller, Richard Klatt, both of Menomonie and Warren Patnode of Durand, two sisters-in-law; Lorene Miller of Boyceville and Elaine Werner of Menomonie, a faithful friend; John Werner of Menomonie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one infant grandson; Ryan Wolf, one sister; Lorraine Brunner Patnode, parents-in-law; LaVerne and Ida Miller, three brothers-in-law; Ray Brunner, LaVerne Miller and David Miller, two sisters-inlaw; Arlene Klatt and Carol Miller Partidge, two sons-in-law; Roger Miller and Robert Miljour, two nephews; Charles and Tim Brunner, one niece; Marie Brunner and one great niece; Alissa Klatt.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Friday, September 26, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Rev. Kristine Stedje and Rev. David Whelan will officiate. A private burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
