Robert J. Wayne
Robert J. Wayne age 57 currently of Ladysmith, formerly of Downsville, died Thursday September 11, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Bob was born December 1, 1956 in Durand. He was the son of Roy H. and Kathryn A. (Weisenbeck) Wayne. Bob attended school in Durand until 1969 when he moved with his family to Downsville. Bob graduated from Menomonie High School in 1975. Bob married Linda Bauer November 6, 1976 and had three children, they later divorced. Bob worked in the family business, Wayne Pallets in Downsville for several years. He went on to own and operate his own logging business and continued to work in the lumber industry for the rest of his life.
Bob loved hunting and fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons and other family and friends. Bob had a huge heart and an infectious smile. He touched the lives of many people and though he will be sadly missed he left many fond memories to be cherished by those who knew him.
Bob is survived by his three children, Joe (Sarah) of Menomonie; Amber (Chris) Weeman of New Prague, MN; Chelsie (Adam) Anderson of Colfax; six grandsons, Adam, Samuel and Benjamin Wayne; Zachary and Caleb Weeman; Ayden Anderson; his mother, Kathryn Wayne of Menomonie; five brothers, Larry (Julie), Terry (April), of Menomonie; Gary (Dianne) of Holcombe; Mark (Cathy) of West Bend; Jason (Jessie) of Menomonie; five sisters, Linda (Allen) Mans of Jim Falls; Nancy (Doug) Hurlburt of Durand; Lisa Wayne-Kitzman of Plymouth, MN; Lori (Mark) Radke of Cottonwood, MN; Michelle (Dean) Bostrom of Farmington, MN and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy in 2012 and a niece, Kayla Marie Wayne.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. John Mano officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
