Rosella M. Schlosser
Rosella Marie Schlosser age 91 of Durand, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with her family at her side.
Rose was born on March 21, 1923 in the picturesque Durand, WI area. She was the last surviving child of John X. and Mary (Bauer) Bauer. She grew up in the Lima area and graduated from Lima High School. Rose married Edward O. Schlosser on June 1, 1943. They raised their nine children and together managed the family farm in the Township of Canton, Buffalo County, for several decades.
Rose was truly one of a kind. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Besides being a great cook and gardener, she was a long-time member of the Holy Rosary Parish Women’s Auxiliary. She was a wise, gracious and caring person whose positive attitude reflected upon those around her.
Rose is survived by her children, Judy (Charlie) Ecker of Eau Claire; Edward (Joan Berring) of Hayward; Ray (Ruby Benson) of Durand; Evonne (John) Steger of Sun Prairie; Steve (Joann) of Durand; Maralee Timm of Meridean; Terese (Mark) Nickeas of Wisconsin Dells; a son-in-law, Mike (Deb) Bloss of Elk Mound; 11 grandchildren, five great grandchildren whom she loved very much, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings, husband Edward in 2005; two daughters, Ruth Ann Schlosser and Patricia Bloss; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Schlosser and Ruth Jane Schlosser; a son-in-law, Reid Timm and two infant grandsons.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kenneth Rucker, Lynn Smith, and the staff at Oakview Care Center and Chippewa Valley Hospital for the wonderful care they gave to her. She enjoyed her time at the Care Center the past four years partaking in all the activities and spending time with friends and family. In keeping with what she would often say, we love you Mom and thank you. Thank you for everything.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday September 13, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, Durand Wisconsin with Rev. Eric Linzmaier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
