Clarence E. Spindler
Clarence E. Spindler, age 88 of Durand, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with his brother by his side.
Clarence was born on December 19, 1925 in Durand. He was the son of Edward and Anna (Weisenbeck) Spindler. Clarence grew up on the Spindler family farm in the Town of Durand and attended the Durand High School. After high school, Clarence went to work on the family farm, where he raised pigs. In 1990, Clarence moved into the City of Durand with his mother, Anna after the passing of his father, Edward. Clarence moved back to the family farm in 1999 where he lived with his brother, Hubert. For the last 3 years, Clarence has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.
Clarence enjoyed going on rides, watching the crops grow and reading. After his father passed away, Clarence devoted his time to taking care of his mother. He took her everywhere she needed to go. Most of all, Clarence loved to spend time with family and friends.
Clarence is survived by his brother, Arnold of Durand, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Wayne, John and Hubert.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the times of services at the funeral home on Thursday in Durand.
