Lyle "Tim" Sinz
Lyle “Tim” Sinz, age 89, of Eau Galle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Tim was born on December 24, 1924 at home on the Cold Stream Farm in rural Elmwood. He was the son of Clarence and Lena (Kaufman) Sinz. Tim grew up in the Elmwood area, attended Hall’s One Room School and St. Henry’s Eau Galle. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Lima in 1942.
Tim met Blanche Brenner in September 1944 at Koller’s Pavilion. Tim and Blanche married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand, September 2, 1946. After marriage they farmed and raised their family in the shadow of the Waubeek Mound on Edgewood Dairy. They moved to the town of Eau Galle in 1983 and he remained active on the family farm.
Tim had a passion for dancing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Tim is survived by his wife Blanche of nearly 68 years; eight children: Bob (Laurel) of Eau Claire, Ron (Marilyn) of Eau Galle, Tom (Deb) of Menomonie, Jane (Dan) Weisenbeck of Durand, Charlie (Karen) of Eau Galle, Paul (Lisa) of Stillwater, MN, Susan (Tom) Udelhoven of Eagan, MN and Mary (Scott) Schmidt of Eden Prairie, MN; 12 grandchildren: Carla (Andy) Sinz Mohrlant, Johanna Sinz, Kyle (Libby) Sinz, Brock (Jamie) Sinz, Lisa (Chad) Hanson, Sara (Patrick) Cotter, Ryan Weisenbeck, Tony Sinz, Denise Sinz, Christopher Sinz, Connor Udelhoven and Margo Udelhoven; eight great grandchildren and two brothers: Wayne of CA and Larry (Joan) of Menomonie.
Tim is proceeded in death by his parents and four siblings: Cyril, Delano, Dorothy “Sis” Unser and a brother in infancy.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. Rev. Jerry Hoeser will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
