Norris M Pittman
Norris M. Pittman, age 75 of Elmwood, originally of Arkansaw, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood.
Norris was born on August 1, 1938 in Plum City. He was the son of William and Laura (Schultz) Pittman. Norris grew up in Arkansaw and graduated from Arkansaw High School. After high school, Norris joined the U.S. Army. He served as a tank mechanic in Germany and he was Honorably Discharged. Norris did sales in the Milwaukee area for several years. He married Carol Brunner on June 6, 1964 and they later divorced. They made their home in Davenport, IA where he managed a Farm and Fleet for many years. Norris moved back to the Western Wisconsin area in the mid 1980’s. He has been a resident of Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood for the last year.
Norris liked watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs, playing cards, woodworking, fishing and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He also loved to spend time with family and friends.
Norris is survived by his children; Kathleen (Jim) Nichols, Thomas (Andrea), Christine (Matthew) McCoy, Mary Pittman and Lucy Pittman, three grandchildren; Karen, Jonathan and Grace and one brother; Bill Pittman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law; Sylvia Pittman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arkansaw. Fr. Paul Czerwonka will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.
