Lois M Shepard

Lois M. Shepard, age 85 of Menomonie, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.

Lois was born August 27, 1922 in Jewitt, rural St. Croix County. She was the daughter of Isaac and Loulla (Palmer) Parent. Lois grew up in the Cylon area and graduated from the New Richmond High School. Lois married John Shepard January 27, 1944 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cylon. After marriage, they moved to Washington D.C. while John was in the service. After the service, they lived in the Boyceville area for a few years before moving to the Shepard family farm in 1953. They farmed and raised their family until retiring in 1976. They moved to Glenwood City in 1976 and lived there until 1995 when they moved to Menomonie where she remained the rest of her life. John died in 2002.

Lois was a member of the Best Valley Homemaker Club; she loved to sew, making several wedding dresses and baking. Lois was a caring loving wife, mother and gramma and will be sadly missed. Lois was also an avid Atlanta Braves and Green Bay Packer fan and her baked goods will be missed by all.

Lois is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Vickie), Michael (Claudia), both of Menomonie, John (Linda) of Downing, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother Isaac “Bud” Parent of Peachtree City, GA, one sister Marion Halverson of New Richmond, many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, three sons, Gregory, Robert and Ronald, one daughter, Mary Radle and two sisters, Gwen Eckert and Eileen Joyce.
