Henry Schwartz
Henry M. “Hank” Schwartz, age 70 of Eau Claire, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at his home in Eau Claire.
Hank was born on December 17, 1943 in Durand. He was the son of William and Mildred (Ott) Schwartz. Hank grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam on a supply boat on the Da Nang River. Hank was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1969. When Hank returned home from the Navy, he married Mary F. Weishapple in March of 1969 in Milwaukee. Hank then went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Eau Claire and Master’s from UW-Stout in Vocational Rehab. While living in Eau Claire, Hank worked for the Career Development Center in Eau Claire for 15 years. He then took a job at UW-Stout in vocational rehab where he worked until retiring in 2002. Mary passed away in 2002.
Hank enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He also loved Corvettes and was a long time member of the Chippewa Valley Corvette Club. Hank loved to have grill outs and spend time with family and friends in his garage.
Hank is survived by his son; James (Ann Marie) of Fox Lake, three grandchildren; Payton, Madison, and Riley, all at home, one brother; Peter (Delores) of Durand, one sister; Carolyn Tinling of Rochester, NY, special friend, Betsy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Mary and two brothers; Robert and William.
