Frank S Davis Sr
On Saturday October 12th 2013, before the sun came across the front of the Frank and Marge Davis home, Frank Stanley Davis Sr, slipped quietly into the arms of the Lord to join his wife Janet.
Frank Stanley Davis was the eldest child of John L. Hoppa of Stevens Point, WI and Anna Patelski of Chicago, IL. He was raised in Oak Forest, IL graduating from Tillman High School with technical expertise he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941. While he was stationed in Abilene, TX for training, Janet Dorthea Biehl visited him and they were married on May 6, 1942. While stationed in the Pacific, a son Frank Jr., was born to Janet and Frank on July 30, 1944. Frank served proudly as a mechanic in the Army in the Philippines and New Guinea. He returned to the United States in December of 1945 and was decommissioned. Frank used his mechanical skills to find a job in the auto industry, working for four major Chevrolet Dealers in the cities of Chicago, Oak Park, Glendale Heights and Elmhurst.
Frank is survived by his only son, Frank Staley (Margaret) Davis, Jr; grandchildren, Frank Stanley (Colleen) Davis, III; Gregory Alexander Davis; Christopher Logan (Stephanie) and Teresa (Jeff) Johansson; great grandchildren, Aiden, Megan, Amya, Shaun, Ava, Nolan, Ryo, Bennett, Alivia and Logan. He is also survived by his close friend and companion, Mary.
Through the generosity of the Dunn County Humane Society, most recently he received the love and loyalty of his dog, Sugar.
Frank requested that in lieu of flowers memorials in his name be made to the Dunn County Humane Society.
