Cornetta E Bauer
Cornetta E. Bauer, age 100 of Nelson, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with her family by her side.
Cornetta was born on November 29, 1912 in on the family farm in Urne rural Nelson. She was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Severson) Johnson. Cornetta grew up in the Urne area and attended the Church Valley country school in Urne. After school, Cornetta stayed around the farm and help with chores for several years. Cornetta married Leonard C. Bauer on June 15, 1939 at St. Mary’s in Durand. After marriage, they lived in Durand for several years before moving back to the Johnson Family farm in Urne, where they farmed and raised their family. After Leonard’s passing in 1986, Cornetta continued to live on the farm where she remained the rest of her life.
Cornetta enjoyed playing cards, taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens and she was a member of the Sons of Norway. Most of all, Cornetta enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Cornetta is survived by her children; Bruce (Charlene) Bauer of Alma and David (Laurie) Bauer of Nelson, four grandchildren; Justin Bauer, Tracee (Russ) Wilkerson, Adam Bauer and Gennah (Nick) Bremer, three great grandchildren; Rylee and Kyan Rosenberg and Bray Wilkerson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Leonard, two children in infancy; Eugene and Bonnie Bauer, five brothers; Johnnie, Albert, Melvin, Sydney and James Johnson, four sisters; Ovedia Ness, Sylvina Brommer, Hazel Nelson and Julia Burgmeier.
