Albert M Andraschko
Albert M. Andraschko age 81 of Menomonie, died Friday September 20, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Menomonie, surrounded by his family.
Al was born June 2, 1932 in Clear Lake, the son of Max and Leona (Steinberger) Andraschko. Al grew up in the Glenwood City- Boyceville area, and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1950. Al served for three years in the U.S. Army Airborne during the Korean War and also was a Maritime Seaman for seven years on the Great Lakes. Al then drove for Greyhound Lines for 25 years, retiring in 1993. Al married Ruth Schreiner April 29, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie where they lived and raised their family.
Al was a member of the Boyceville American Legion Post 314; St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council 2055; Rakkasan’s 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team Association Retirees. Al enjoyed woodworking, spending time at the cabin with family, and anything outdoors.
Al is survived by his wife Ruth of 55 years; a daughter, Maxine (Peter) Terry of Menomonie; three sons, Anthony (Mary)of Knapp; Mathew (Teresa) and Michael (Dawn) both of Menomonie; nine grandchildren, Jason (Renee) Andraschko, Amanda (Fiancé’ Philip) Andraschko; Amy (Jonny) Andraschko; Jeanne (Nick) Chastan, Ryan Andraschko, Nicole and Alexander Terry, all of Menomonie; Richard (Amber) Andraschko of Oak Harbor, WA; Cory (Lisa) Andraschko of Hayward; eight great grandchildren, Jackson Maximillian, Myles Martin, Mary Marie, Layla Marie, Everett Michael, Rowan Valjean, Mack Mathew, Elizabeth Marie; one sister, Teresa (Larry) Vorderbruggen of Elk River, MN; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Rosie) Schreiner of Durand; LaVerne (Carol) Schreiner of Chippewa Falls; one sister-in-law, Isabelle Pierce of Marshfield; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Mathew Joseph Andraschko; two nephews, Patrick and Thomas Vorderbruggen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willard Pierce; Charles (Dorothy) Feuerstein; LaVerne (Harriet) Gerth; Glenn (Myrna) Schreiner.
