Eva E Breitzman

Eva E. Breitzman, age 97 of Menomonie, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
Eva was born April 1, 1911 in Page, North Dakota, the only child of John and Elizabeth (Cramer) Hanley. After the death of her father when she was seven years old, she and her mother moved to Menomonie, her mother’s home town. Eva attended St. Joseph’s School through 8th grade and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1929.
Eva attended Stout for two years and received an elementary teaching certificate and taught school while working on her bachelor of science at Eau Claire State Teacher’s College. During those years she taught at Elk Mound, for three years Neilsville for nine years and Chippewa Falls for 18 years.
Eva resided in Menomonie for most of her life, the last number of years as a resident of Our House Assisted Living.
Eva is survived by a brother-in-law, Gene (Ardy) Breitzman of Wausau, sister-in-law Diane Breitzman of Eau Claire, nieces and nephews, Don (Rose) Breitzman, Julie Breitzman, both of Menomonie, Bob (Kris) Breitzman of Onalaska, Jim (Julie) Breitzman of Columbus, Paul Breitzman of Eau Claire, Debra (Jim) Sidd of Bloomington, MN, Patricia Hiebl of Wausau, several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 1994, brothers-in-law, Gerald and Donald Breitzman.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Our House for the kind attention and compassionate care given to Eva for the past seven plus years and to Dunn County Health Care Center for the care given during her final days of life’s journey.
