Richard A Boettcher
Richard Arthur "Rick" Boettcher, age 60 of Rock Falls, died Monday, June 24, 2013 in the Township of Peru from an accidental drowning.
Rick was born on May 4, 1953 in Eau Claire. He was the son of Elmer "Al" and Carol (Holbrook) Boettcher. Rick grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from North High School in 1971. After high school, Rick enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He served stateside until being honorably discharged in 1976. Rick married Rhonda Brinker; together they had three sons and later separated but remained friends. Rick loved to cook and he worked as a Chef at the Whitehouse Restaurant in Eau Claire. He was later employed by the Pope and Talbot Paper Company for over 29 years. Rick left Pope and Talbot to work at the Telemark Resort in Cable for several years as a water treatment technician.
Rick was a great outdoorsman; he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved sharing his passion for the outdoors with his sons. Rick also loved to cook for family and friends and creating his own spice blends to give as gifts.
Rick is survived by his sons; Richard G. of Rock Falls, Russell and Randall, both of Ladysmith, one grandson; Dean, one sister; Pamela Lovelien of Eau Claire, two nephews; Graham Lovelien and Seth Lovelien, two nieces; Claire Lovelien and Grace Lovelien, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer "Al" Boettcher and Carol Para, step-father Ed Para and one brother, Charles "Chuck" Boettcher.
