Marjorie A "Margie" Bartok
Marjorie A. "Margie" Bartok, age 67 of Durand, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Margie was born on June 7, 1945 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Jake and Lillian (Schober) Bechel. Margie grew up in Plum City and graduated from Plum City High School in 1963. After high school, Margie worked at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul for several years. On June 20, 1992, Margie married Ron Bartok in East End Park in Ellsworth. In February of 2008, Margie and Ron moved to Durand, where she remained the rest of her life.
Margie enjoyed traveling the country, camping and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Margie is survived by her husband; Ron, four sons; Kevin Lackner of Oakdale, MN, Bobby Lackner of St. Paul, MN, Ron Jr. (Trina) Bartok of Farmington, MN and Dave (fiancé Lisa) Bartok of St. Paul, MN, four daughters; Linda Gail of Milam, TX, Sandy Bartok, Candie Bartok and Valerie (Chris) Tolbert, all of St. Paul, MN, 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters; Sharon (Joe) Helmueller of River Falls, Audrey (Randy) Richardson of Arkansaw and Kayleen (Dennis) Hayden of Durand, two brothers; Kenneth Sr. (Diane) Bechel and Jerry (Ramona) Bechel of Cottage Grove, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jake and Lillian, one sister; Kay Bechel in infancy.
