Jeanne Adele (Jump) Krueger, age 76, formerly of Durand, WI, passed away Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by loved ones after a courageous fight with heart disease, renal failure, and cancer.

Jeanne was born on April 30, 1936, in the rural Boyceville area to Edmond and Grace (Smith) Jump. Her parents then moved to Colfax, and Jeanne graduated from Colfax High School in 1953. For the last half of her high school years, she was a nanny and housekeeper for Francis and Marie Schindler. After graduation, she was a home caregiver for ladies in Colfax and New Richmond.

On June 25, 1955, Jeanne was married to Earl Krueger at the Colfax United Methodist Church. They moved to Durand in 1956, and built their house on Durand Street in 1958. Jeanne began working at Clara’s Café (now the Durand House) where she perfected her skills at making buns, cinnamon rolls, and pies. In 1957, she started working in the main offices of Bauer Built, Inc, where she stayed for 52 years. She only retired in 2009 once she started dialysis. While working full time, Jeanne also sold Beeline clothing for 16 years and Wicker Plus baskets & decorations for 17 years through the home party plan. As a result of her efforts, she won two different trips to Hawaii. Jeanne and Earl were married for almost 40 years until Earl’s passing in 1995. Jeanne continued living in their home on Durand St until 2010 when she moved to The Oaks apartments in Menomonie.

Jeanne was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, serving as Treasurer of the Durand UMC for 13 years. She also drove for the Pepin County Senior Center for 13 years. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, knitting, puzzles, traveling, bowling, and spending time with friends and family.

Jeanne was preceded in death by husband Earl Krueger, parents Edmond & Grace Jump, sister Eleanor (Jump) Frieburg, nephew Cory Otto, and brother-in-law Jerry Otto.

Jeanne is survived by her sisters, Beverly (Bob) Stalker, Audrey (Stan) Kuhn, and Donna Otto, Nieces and Nephews, Randy (Denise) Stalker, Rick (Sherilyn) Stalker, Brenda (Jeremy) Johnson, Kim (John) Uetz, Kristie (Lance)Schwartz, Tamara Betterley, Troy (Heather) Kuhn, Dave (Janelle) Frieburg, and Sean Otto, 23 Great Nieces and Nephews, 5 Great Great Nieces and Nephews with more on the way, along with many other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 4 to 7pm at Rhiel’s Funeral Home, 615 12th Ave E, Durand, WI.
