Constance Joy "Connie" Binkowski
Constance Joy "Connie" Binkowski, age 74 of Plum City, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after a battle with cancer, with her family by her side.
Connie was born on April 17, 1938 in Plum City to Vernon and Beatrice (Clifford) Ingli. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plum City, where she played the organ for Sunday Services and special occasions for several years as a young woman.
Connie graduated from Plum City High School and within a few days started work at Security National Bank in Durand, where she remained for 46 years serving in various capacities. She was a Senior Vice President at the time of her retirement in July 2002. Connie enjoyed working with the customers and her goal was to give the highest quality of service possible.
Connie married John Binkowski in 1957. They shared many good times going dancing with their friends in the younger years and enjoyed traveling throughout their married life. Connie served on the Chippewa Valley Technical College Board from 1986 to 1993, Pierce County Library Board from September 2003 to July of 2011 and currently was serving on the Plum City Library Board.
After retirement, Connie spent some time volunteering at the elementary school. She enjoyed working with the young children. Education was always very important to Connie, so when the formation of the Educational Foundation presented itself, she became one of it's organizers in 2004 and was currently serving on the board as President.
Connie loved music from the time she was a little girl taking piano lessons, starting in 3rd grade through high school. Some of her happiest moments were participating in school concerts and then going to school concerts to see first her son and then her grandchildren perform. Her family was her pride and joy and were most precious in her life.
Connie is survived by her husband of 55 years, John, one son; Corey (Amanda) of Plum City, three grandchildren; Zachary, Hayley (Fiancé Brandyn Seipel) and Paige, all at home, other relatives and friends.
