Henry M Geraets
Henry "Hank" M. Geraets age 92 of Elmwood, died Monday October 29, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie.
Hank was born February 23, 1920 in the Township of Rock Elm, rural Elmwood. He was the son of Theodore and Hilda (Grelinger) Geraets and grew up in that community. As a young man he worked for several years in Racine. Hank returned to Elmwood and farmed with his father and later purchased the farm. Hank also owned and operated Hank's Bar in Elmwood and was a rural mail carrier for the Elmwood Post Office for many years.
Hank is survived two brothers, Francis of Lady Lake, FL and Ted of Lillian, AL; a sister, Gertrude Geraets of Madison, IN; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Leo, Lawrence, Fr. Chrysostom, Abbot David, Gary and Joseph; five sisters, Marie Zittle, Sr. Hildegarde & Sr. Benedict Geraets; Johanna Helmueller and Lillian Bicknell.
