Alice Marie Early Pittman
Alice Marie Early Pittman, born on September 14, 1911, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, to Charles and Alice (Kelly) Early, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Durand, Wisconsin. She graduated in 1929 from Arkansaw High School. She started teaching at age 18 in a one-room schoolhouse in rural Pepin County. She spent the last 18 years of her teaching career in Plum City, Wisconsin. She was the principal at Plum City Elementary School for nine years before retiring.
Alice married Martin H. Pittman on June 4, 1935. They had three children: Donald, Kathleen, and Jean. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Jean, and grandson Robert Wolf. She is survived by Donald (Norma) Pittman of Durand, Kathleen Pittman of Harlingen, Texas, son-in-law Ed Nelson of Durand, nine grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
