Leonard A Bauer
Leonard A. Bauer age 90 of Durand, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with his family by his side.
Leonard was born on July 16, 1922 at home on the family farm in the Town Lima, rural Durand. He was the son of Joseph A. and Rose (Danzinger) Bauer. Leonard grew up in the Lima area and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lima. After high school, Leonard drove truck for Charlie Drier Trucking for many years before buying a truck and trucking on his own until he retired.
Leonard enjoyed cutting wood, especially for the church. He also liked to work-on and fix farm equipment in retirement and playing cards, especially Euchre and 500. Leonard loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a man of great faith, serving Masses and leading rosaries.
Leonard is survived by his four brothers; Wilfred, Lewis (Lud) (Lois) Bauer, Arnie (Darlene), Pat (Patty), all of Durand, one sister; Sister Rosalia Bauer of Beloit, many nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Lawrence, Joe and Ed, two sisters; Catherine Bilderback and Florence Hayden.
