Kenneth C "Kenny" McMahan
Kenneth C. "Kenny" McMahan, age 90 of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire with his family by his side.
Kenny was born on October 8, 1921 in Mondovi. He was the son of Charles and Mame (Jacat) McMahan. Kenny grew up in the Eau Claire area and farmed for a couple of years. He met and married Eleanore Ann Koller on October 31, 1944 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in rural Durand. After marriage Kenny drove truck for many years. Kenny also worked for UW-Eau Claire Maintenance in the Hilltop Center for 9 years. In 1984, Kenny retired from UW-Eau Claire. For the last 3 years, Kenny has resided in the St. Francis Apartments in Eau Claire.
Kenny and Eleanore enjoyed traveling in retirement, going to Texas in the winters for several years. They also liked going to Polka fests in the area and dancing. Kenny also liked to snowmobile and going for rides. Most of all, he loved to spend time with family and friends.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eleanore, three children; Chuck (Tammy) of Wabasha, MN, Judy (Mac McGaughey) Haag of Bruce and Greg of Chicago, IL, five grandchildren; Kim, Matt, Amy, Mike and Trevor, six great grandchildren, two sisters; Charlotte Winter of Eau Claire and Leona Winter of Iowa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Myrtle Parkhurst and Evaline Parkhurst.
