Collin R Hemmy
Collin Ronald Hemmy age 46, died unexpectedly on Saturday May 26, 2012 at his home in Honolulu, HI. Collin was born and raised in Durand, WI. Following high school, he enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Madison and also enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1986. Collin moved to Minneapolis, MN where he apprenticed and became a journeyman machinist. In 1996, Collin relocated to Hawaii to pursue his interest in sailing and was the owner and operator of “Quality Marine Repair”.
Collin treasured the paradise in which he lived including the idyllic landscape and the mesmeric ocean. He embraced the culture and people of the islands and everything they had to offer. Collin appreciated a wide variety of music genres and especially loved to attend live performances. He was, along with his father an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. Collin more recently took up motorcycling and enjoyed the friends he made on group rides. Collin was a very communal and caring man towards his close family and countless friends, who will forever cherish his impact on their lives.
Collin is survived by his parents, Ronald & Sharon (Garvin) Hemmy of Menomonie, WI; his sisters, Nicolet Hemmy(Sean Knick) of Madison; Jodi (Todd) Lyle of Chagrin Falls, OH; Tracy (Eric) Engbloom of Middleton, WI; along with his adored nieces and nephews, Tessa & Lauren Engbloom and Duncan and Dane Lyle.
A memorial fund in Collin’s name is being established for his nieces’ and nephews’ future education, in lieu of flowers.
