Esther E Lindstrom
Esther E. Lindstrom, age 89, of Durand, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.
Esther was born on August 16, 1922 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Adam and Fannie (Hoyt) DeLong. Esther grew up in Eau Galle and graduated from Elmwood High School. Esther married Wilbert R. Lindstrom on October 4, 1940 in Eau Galle. After marriage, they farmed on the Lindstrom home farm in the Town of Maxville, where they also raised their family. In 1987 Esther and Wilbert moved to Durand, where she remained until her recent illness.
Esther was a member of Lyster Lutheran Church in Nelson, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday and Bible School, was an officer of the Ladies Aid and a circle member for over 50 years. She was president of PTA at Urne School and a member of the Homemakers Group. Esther liked to play cards, travel, tending her flower garden and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Esther is survived by her children; William (Sandy) of Durand, Anita (Lyle) Brager of Alma, and Nancy (Jim) Schroeder of Pepin, five grandchildren; Faye, Stacey, Lisa, Nona and Brandon, six great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Lorene Sande of Nelson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbert (2003), five brothers and three sisters.
