Ruth Grace Pickerign
Ruth Grace Pickerign, age 98 of Menomonie, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Menomonie.
Ruth was born on December 3, 1913 in the Town of Eau Galle, rural Dunn County. She was the daughter of William and Rosetta (Fuhrman) Lehmann. Ruth grew up in the Eau Galle and Elmwood areas and attended the Weber/Hall Country School. Ruth married John J. "Jack" Pickerign on October 30, 1935 in Plum City. After marriage, they farmed and raised their family in the Town of Eau Galle. They retired from the farm in 1976 and moved to the town of Weston. Ruth moved to Menomonie in 1996, where she remained the rest of her life.
Ruth enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and being active in her faith. She also liked to bake, can foods, do crossword puzzles and playing cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by two sons; Keith (Pat) of Menomonie and Gary (Donna) of Elmwood, five daughters; Gloria (Ken) Sol, Vickie (Tom) Wagner and Dixie (Bob) Walter, all of Menomonie, Kathleen Paulson of Strum, and Linda (Patrick) Murphy of Blaine, MN, one daughter-in-law, Linda Pickerign of Spring Valley, 42 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, 34 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; Jack, one son; Gerald, two grandsons; Robert Gregory and Robin Schutts, two brothers; Loyd and Elmer Lehmann and two sisters; Leona Lehmann and Agnes Learmann.
