Violet V Sand
Violet V. Sand age 97 of Elmwood, formerly of Eau Galle, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood, with her family by her side.
Violet was born on October 8, 1914 on her family’s farm in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of William and Emma (Lehman) Kelm, Violet grew up in the Eau Galle area and attended the Weber Valley School. After school, Violet worked at Lakeside Aluminum in Menomonie for a few years. Violet married Wayne Stouff on September 20, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. After marriage, they farmed in the Menomonie area until 1970 when they moved to Thorp. They farmed there until the death of her husband Wayne in 1976. Violet later moved back to Eau Galle and married Leonard Sand on January 28, 1981.
Violet liked to play cards, dance and enjoyed traveling with her husband Leonard. Most of all, Violet loved to spend time with family and friends.
Violet is survived by her children; Al (Mary) Stouff of Elmwood and Linda Braun of Superior, three grandchildren; Erik, Matthew and Kara, three great grandchildren, two step-sons; Keith (Shirley) Sand of Elmwood and Duane (Helen) Sand of New York, brother-in-law, Galen Todd of Elmwood, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Wayne Stouff and Leonard Sand, two sisters, Evelyn Todd and Alice Glaus.
