Florence L Muenich
Florence L. Muenich age 96 of Menomonie,
Died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
She was born September 19, 1915 in Chippewa Falls. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Stiffner) Nowak and grew up in Chippewa Falls. Florence attended St. Charles Elementary School and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. Florence married Lawrence O. Muenich January 19, 1940. After marriage they moved to Menomonie where they raised their family. Florence and Lawrence owned and operated the Colfax Super Value from 1955 to 1960. She also worked at Lammer’s Supermarket, Don’s Super Value, and several other retail stores in Menomonie.
Florence cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which were most important to her. Florence had a great sense of humor. Making people smile brought her great joy. Florence was a giving and generous person who would do anything for anyone. She loved to cook and have holiday meals with her family. Florence liked to dance to the Muenich Orchestra, and spend time with her twin sister, Helen Lee.
Florence is survived by four sons, Andrew (Virginia) of Eau Claire; Robert of Las Cruces, NM; Paul (Laura) of Waunakee; Tom (Donna) of Colfax; one daughter, Marilyn (Richard) Shafer of Menomonie; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence in 1993; two brothers, Edmund and Charles Nowak; her twin sister, Helen Lee and sister Leone Nowak.
