Robert L Laschinger
Robert L. "Bob” Laschinger, age 86 of Durand, formerly of Arkansaw, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire with his family by his side.
Bob was born on January 29, 1926 on the family farm in Arkansaw. He was the son of Joseph and Bertilda (Schmitt) Laschinger. Bob attended Black Country School and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1944. After high school, Bob went to work and took over the family farm. Bob married Lorena Brantner on April 11, 1951 in Sacred Heart Parish in Mondovi. After marriage they continued to farm and raise their eight children on the family farm in Arkansaw. The Laschinger Farm was recognized as a Century Farm from the State of Wisconsin while Bob and Lorena ran it. Bob continued to be involved with the farm operations until his death.
Bob was an avid card player; he enjoyed going to auctions, church bazaars, Friday fish fry’s and taking family road trips. He was an excellent business manager of the farm; he understood the importance of a good education for success in life. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorena, seven children, Eugene (Julie) of Verona, Carol (Kevin) Kirk of Eau Claire, Michael (Cheryl) of San Jose, CA, Nancy (James Hathaway) Richardson of Arkansaw, Bernice Laschinger of San Jose, Mary Laschinger of Germantown, TN and Patrick (Lynne) Conway, SC, 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Marlyn Brantner of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Terry and one sister, Elaine Bauer.
