Beatrice J "Beats" Biederman

Beatrice J. "Beats" Biederman, age 93 of Durand, died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand.

Beats was born on June 6, 1918, in the Town of Union, rural Plum City. She was the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Grab) Luebker, one of six children. Beats attended Cotter Country School and St. John's Catholic School in Plum City. She attended beauty school and then started her first job in Ellsworth. Beats married Paul Biederman on August 3, 1943, at St. Johns in Plum City. After marriage, they moved to Durand where she worked at several beauty shops before becoming a partner with Karen Bauer at The House of Beauty in Durand and worked until her retirement at age 80. Since April, Beats has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Beats enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, baking and cooking. She was member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 60 years. In that time she sang in the choir and was a member of St. Mary's PCCW. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her church family.

Beats is survived by three boys, Paul "Butch" of Durand, Jeff "Rattler" of Eau Claire, Mike "Dutch" (Kay) of Pepin, four daughters Mary Ann (R. Paul) Reinhardt of Nelson, Brenda (James) Jiskra of Durand, Kathleen (Randy) Korthof of Delano, MN and Patrice Ozowski of Cochrane, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Maher of LaCrosse, Shirley Luebker of Prairie du Chein and Eunice Luebker of Plum City, brother-in-law, Perry (Lou) Biederman of Somerset, special friends, Mary Lou Weiss, Audrey Olsen and her family from The House Of Beauty, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, one son, Allen, four brothers, Walt, Bernard, Clarence and Gene Luebker, one sister, Pauline White and a special friend, Eileen Cebe.
