Betty J Bauer
Betty J. Bauer, age 81 of Durand, died Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand, with her family by her side.
Betty was born on February 12, 1930, in Durand. She was the daughter of Jack and Francis (DeMarce) Girard. Betty grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After school, Betty married Gilbert F. Bauer on January 28, 1948, at Holy Rosary Church in Lima. After marriage, they moved to their farm in the Town of Lima, where she helped farm and raise her family. They later moved to their current home in the Town of Lima, where she remained the rest of her life.
Betty was an avid knitter, making afghans for presents and new additions to her family. She also loved dogs, going to basketball games and watching the Packers on TV. Betty was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Church and Holy Rosary PCCW. Most of all Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gilbert, five children, Diane (Marty) Prissel, Sharon (Stan) Jesse, both of Durand, Vicky (Dick) Klein of Wabasha, MN, Brian (Rhonda) of Rushford, MN, Brent (Heidi) of Durand, 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, one brother, George (Charlotte) Girard of Mondovi and one sister, DeVerna Logslett of South Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son in infancy, Joseph, two brothers, John Jr. and Merwyn Girard and a brother-in-law, Robert Logslett.
