Kenneth M "Ken" Schuh
Kenneth M. “Ken” Schuh age 79 of Menomonie, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home in Menomonie under hospice care with his family at his side.
Ken was born on September 14, 1932 on the family farm in Rock Falls. He was the son of Vintz and Genevieve (Yanni) Schuh. He grew up in Rock Falls and attended Cranberry Creek Country School. After school, Ken took over the family farm. Ken married Darlene Hubbard and they later divorced. Ken met Deb Behling in 1996 and they were married September 20, 1997 in Menomonie. Ken worked on the family farm and sold Watkins Products until 1978 when he went to work for Bauer Built Tire Service in Durand. Ken moved to Menomonie in 1979, where he remained the rest of his life.
Ken wore many hats; husband, dad, grandpa, farmer, salesman, carpenter and truck driver, all of which he loved. He loved to travel and go to casinos (especially when he won!), telling stories and Farmall tractors. In his younger years, Ken enjoyed playing softball, bowling, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Ken is survived by his wife, Deb, three sons, Michael of Eau Claire, Tracy (Pamela) of Rock Falls and Jay (Kim) of Durand, six daughters, Crystal Witt of Winona, MN, Gay (Monte) Hurlburt of Durand, Melissa (Mark) Kent of Rock Falls, Valerie (Chris) Seever of Oakdale, MN, Amanda Stephens and Holly (Zach) Mara, both of Menomonie, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Laurie Thalacker of New Richmond and Arlene Gruber of Rock Falls, Mother and father-in-law, Ansel and Carolyn Berger of Menomonie, two brothers-in-law, Eric Berger of Oregon; Steve (Mary Jane) Berger of Middleton; a sister-in-law Julie (Robert) Roen of Chippewa Falls; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anna Bauer, five brothers, Roman, Ed, Louis, Frank and Richard Schuh.
