Margaret E. Holmstadt age 97 of Plum City, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at her home in Plum City with her family by her side.

Margaret was born October 17, 1913 in the Town of Union, rural Plum City. She was the daughter of Edward and Theresa (Schlosser) Schrader. Margaret attended the country school south of Plum City. Margaret married Clarence F. Holmstadt on August 9, 1933 in Plum City. After marriage they purchased the now family farm east of Plum City in the Town of Union where they raised their family. Clarence passed away in 1962. Margaret stayed on the farm until 1966 when she moved into the Village of Plum City, where she remained the rest of her life.

Margaret enjoyed traveling the country, taking trips with her children and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, sewing, crocheting, gardening and church activities. Most of all, Margaret loved to spend time with family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her children, Kenneth (Gertrude) of Plum City, Evelyn (Harold) Goerdt of Bloomington, MN, Wilma (Donald) Brunner of Maiden Rock, Arlene (Gary) Dado of Amery, Wayne (Shelly) of Plum City, Carol (Don) Stewart of River Falls, Marlys (Doug Spray) Holmstadt of Woodbury, MN, Norman (Marlene) of Plum City, Cathy (Art) Schrofe, Jean (John) Hilson, both of Eau Claire, Larry (Cindy) of Durand, 46 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Lucille Zimmerman of Eau Claire, Evelyn Holmstadt, and Lorraine Brenner, both of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, one great great granddaughter, Stephanie Lyford, one brother, George Schrader and one sister, Helen Weberg.
