Charles "Bud" Yauch
Charles A. “Bud” Yauch age 81 of Menomonie,
Died: Wednesday May 4, 2011 at his home in Menomonie from complications of A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Bud was born October 18, 1929 in the Olivet area of Pierce County. He was the son of Harvey L. and Minnie (Ziehme) Yauch but grew up mostly in Elmwood. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1948. After high school Bud worked at Montgomery Wards for two years. Bud married Carol Ottman March 24, 1951 and on March 28 1951, Bud enlisted in the U. S. Army and served until March of 1953. After the service he returned to St. Paul and began his career with the U. S. Postal Service as a Postal Carrier in the city of St. Paul, retiring in May of 1985. Bud served as an Officer in the N.A.L.C. for many years. In 1988 they moved back to Elmwood for several years before moving to Hayward in 1997. In 2000, Bud and Carol moved to Menomonie where he has remained the rest of his life. Bud was an active member of the Crain-Ottman American Legion Post 207 for over 20 years and was currently serving as the Sergeant at Arms. Bud enjoyed gardening and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.
Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; seven children; Sharie (Bob) Colaizy of Menomonie; David (Elaine) of Arden Hills, MN; Diane (Mike) Hoffmann of Oakdale, MN; Doug (Doreen) of Centerville, MN; Mike (Maureen) of Cottage Grove, MN; Scott (Penny) of St. Paul, MN; Juli (Tom Schneider) Wagner of Eagan, MN; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Marian) Yauch of Elmwood; two sisters, Lorraine Young of Prescott; Deloris (Stan) Schulte of Napono, CA; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Harvey Jr., two sisters Carol Alton and Eileen Anderson.
