Joseph C Brenner
Joseph C. Brenner age 82 of Durand, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN with his family by his side.
Joe was born on January 18, 1929 in Durand. He was the son of Joseph A. and Clara M. (Manor) Brenner. Joe grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School in 1947. After high school, Joe attended UW Madison and graduated in 1951. In August of 1951 Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for 30 years. Joe married Beverly Macklin on October 18, 1952 in New Jersey. Together they had four children. Beverly passed away on February 20, 1980. Joe married Charmayne Norby on July 23, 1988 in Mondovi. Joe took over the family business, Brenner’s Clothing in Durand in 1956 and ran the business for 24 years. In 1978, Joe became a clothing salesman for Standard Knitting Mills and later for Lavin Men’s Accessories. Joe and Charmayne started Brenner’s Sales in 1990 and retired from there in 1993.
Joe loved to golf, especially with his grandchildren, he liked to make golf clubs and enjoyed woodworking. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Charmayne, three children, Kathy Kranz of Bloomington, MN, Mary Beth (Fritz) Jaeger of Burbank, CA and Joseph “Skip” C. (Anita) Brenner Jr. of Lakeville, MN, two stepchildren, Jane (Mark) Jenson, and Dawn Dregney both of Eau Claire, 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, one daughter, Margaret Ann in infancy, one grandson, Korey Kranz in infancy, three stepchildren, Wanda Dregney, Wallace Dregney and Melinda Dregney,
