John E Williamson
John E. Williamson age 68 of Elmwood, died Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire after battling cancer for the past year.
John was born August 9, 1942 in Menomonie. He was the son of Fred and Mary Etta (Brewer) Williamson and grew up in the Menomonie area. John graduated from Menomonie High School in 1960 and attended University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He married Janet Doughty November 9, 1963. They enjoyed 48 years together raising their family. John worked as an electrician for 3M, University of Wisconsin-Stout and De Laval. John loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his ranger, making maple syrup, grilling out, working at the Rock Elm Ice Cream Socials at the United Methodist Church during the summers and spending time with his family and friends. John left an impact on everyone that he met.
John is survived by his wife, Janet; a son, Jay (Dana) of Menomonie; a daughter Jenny (Fred) Bechel of Elmwood; four granddaughters, Katie (Tom) Knegendorf; Sarah Bjork, Tiffany and Brooke Williamson; a sister, Ramona Reidt of Menomonie; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marshall and Eldon; two sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Mary Etta Sterry.
