David S Ruhl
David S. Ruhl age 48 of Menomonie, passed away suddenly due to an unexpected illness on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Dave was born on November 1, 1962 in South Holland, IL. He was the son of Robert and Anna Marie (Sullivan) Ruhl. Dave grew up in the South Holland until the age of 13 when he moved with his family to Shell Lake. Dave graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1981. During high school Dave was active with sports and served as captain of the basketball and baseball teams. After high school, Dave served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX where he was a supply sergeant. Dave married Marcia Lucarelli in 1986 and together they had three children and later their marriage dissolved. After the service, Dave attended UW Eau Claire and graduated in 1987 with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. In 1988, Dave began his employment with Bill’s Distributing in Menomonie, where he was currently the company’s controller. Dave is currently engaged to Nancy Duncan of Fall Creek.
Dave was currently serving on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Community Foundation of Dunn County. He was also a member of BodyWorks Athletic Club for many years and won several awards for racquetball. He loved going to his children’s athletic events, coaching his children’s’ basketball and baseball teams and spending time outside with his family. Dave did the public address announcing at the Menomonie High School baseball games. Dave also helped coach for the Menomonie American Legion baseball team. Dave enjoyed going to all of the Menomonie High School football games for many years and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan.
Dave is survived by three children, Samantha of Menomonie, Danielle of Minneapolis, MN and Lucas of Menomonie; his fiancé, Nancy Duncan of Fall Creek and her children, Kelsey, Stacey and Nicholas; three sisters, Kathy Kooy of Showlow, AZ; Sue (Joe) Ruhl Of Chicago, IL and Cheri Asher of Erskine, MN; one brother, Richard (Judy) Ruhl of Rosemount, MN; ex-wife Marcia Hickey of Menomonie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
