Arlene E Klein
Arlene E. Klein, age 86 of Plum City, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, with loved ones by her side.
Arlene was born on November 12, 1925 in the Town of Lima rural Pepin County. She was the daughter of Frank and Stella (Boehm) Weissinger. Arlene grew up in the Lima area and attended Holy Rosary School in Lima. After school, Arlene went to work at a munitions’ factory in Racine until the end of WWII. Arlene married Edward F. Klein on May 12, 1947. After marriage they lived in Plum City and owned a Marge’s Cafe there with Ed’s sister, Marge Klein. Arlene and Ed moved to a farm in rural Plum City in 1955 where they resided the rest of her life.
Arlene was an active member in St. John’s Catholic Church; she was president of the Plum City Senior Council, the Plum City American Legion Post #365 Ladies Auxiliary and was active with meals on wheels. She loved gardening, reading, taking care of the animals on the farm, most of all, Arlene loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arlene is survived by her children, Sandra (Fred) Finstad of Shelbyville, TN, Mary Lou (Doug) Matzek of Maiden Rock, Linda (Dan) DeLong of Durand, John (Nancy) of Milton, FL, Alan (Sandy) of Plum City, Harry (Janice) of Maiden Rock, Susan Sanders of Plum City, Shirley (Gary) Sueppel of Elmwood, Andrew (Sandy) of Cottage Grove, MN and Michael currently serving in Afghanistan, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, one brother, Bernie (Mary) Weissinger of Durand, one sister Marie Hayden of Elk Mound, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward (1997), one granddaughter, Karen Klein, one brother, Frank Weissinger and one sister, Lorraine Wolf.
