Leonard P Fuhrman
Leonard P. Fuhrman age 98 of Menomonie, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.
Leonard was born July 7, 1912 on the home farm in the Township of Spring Lake, in the Hatchville community. He was the son of Julius and Anna (Naseband) Fuhrman. Leonard took great pride in living on the home farm which his father started and he lived on the farm until 1982 when he moved to Menomonie. Leonard married Bertha Oebser January 14, 1933. Leonard was a “Jack of all trades”, he did carpentry work, was a good mechanic, farmer, a milk hauler. Leonard enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing the fiddle in an old time band. He was a devout Christian and member of Faith Lutheran Church in Menomonie.
Leonard is survived by a daughter Jule Skemp of Scottdale, PA; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Jean Fuhrman-Frank of Menomonie; Beverly Fuhrman of Spring Valley; one sister-in-law, Elsie Knospe of Menomonie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years Bertha in 2003, three sons, Howard, Jerry and Wilber Fuhrman; a grandson, Randy Fuhrman and a brother Marcus Fuhrman.
