Dorothy R Amick
Dorothy R. Amick, age 64 of Menomonie, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Dorothy was born on April 20, 1946 in Rice Lake. She was the daughter of Otto and Albie (Pojeta) Schultz. Dorothy grew up in Birchwood and attended school there. She worked at a resort in the Birchwood area for a short while before marrying Donald Amick on August 27, 1965 in Wabasha, MN. After marriage, they milked cows in Birchwood for a short while before moving to the Menomonie area. Dorothy and Donald purchased an apple orchard in the Town of Weston which Dorothy was very proud to have owned. In 1972 Dorothy and Donald purchased a farm just down the road from the orchard, where she lived and worked the rest of her life.
Dorothy’s religion was very important to her. She enjoyed going for rides in the country to sight see. Dorothy was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Roger (Candy) of Menomonie and Kathy (Dale) Dunn of Boyceville, one grandson Nick, one brother, Ed Schultz of Stone Lake, three sisters, Ann (Junior) O’Bryan of Ladysmith, Mary (Orin) Smith of Winter and Antoinette (Al) Sieja of Weyerhaeuser nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald (1996) and one brother, John Schultz.
