Eileen H Markham
Eileen H. Markham age 83 of Menomonie,
Died: Peacefully on Saturday December 18, 2010 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie with her family by her side.
Eileen was born May 7, 1927 in the Township of Mondovi, Buffalo County. She was the daughter of Elmer “Mike” and Rebecca (Tuttle) Stockman. Eileen grew up in the Downsville community, attended Downsville Elementary School and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1945. She married Joseph A. Markham May 29, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie. After marriage they made their home in the Town of Dunn where she worked with her husband hauling milk and doing the bookkeeping. She also worked at the Durand Canning Co. in the summer’s, and she worked for several years at Presto Industries in Eau Claire.
Eileen and Joe liked to travel across the United States, they belonged to the Wally Byam Airstream Club. She loved bake, fish, play cards and spend time with family and friends. Eileen was a active member of St. Joseph’s Church, the P.C.C.W. and was a member of the Women of the Moose.
Eileen is survived by three children, Jerome “Jerry” of Baldwin; Sharon (Randy) Cook of Elmwood; Jeff (Gail) of Menomonie; six grandchildren, Ken Jr. Kevin and Christopher Thidado all of Menomonie; Alex , serving with the U.S. Air Force currently stationed in Greenland; Eric and Katie Markham of Menomonie and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joe February 11, 2010.
