Helen Lawler Neman
Helen Lawler Neman, age 96 of Menomonie, WI, formerly of Land O’Lakes Wisconsin
Died Sunday December 5, 2010 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Helen was born September 12, 1914 in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Anna (Moore) Lawler. Helen graduated with honors from Marquette University where she met her husband Edward Louis Neman. They were married in 1939 and lived over 60 years in Land O’Lakes where they owned Neman’s Grocery Store.
Helen believed strongly in Community involvement and was an active member of the founding organizations for the Phelps Hospital, the Land O’Lakes Library, St. Albert’s Catholic Church and she also served on the school board.
Helen is survived by her sons, Thomas (JoAnn) Neman of Beverly Hills, MI; Edward (Nancy) Neman of Tucson, AZ; daughter Margaret (Richard) Leventhal of Menomonie; daughter-in-law, Colleen (Paul) Neman of LaCrosse; six grandchildren, Emily (Daniel) Leventhal; Joseph (Catherine) Leventhal; Paul (Meaghan) Neman; Katherine (Adam) Berliner; Mary Neman and Thomas Leventhal; five great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her nephew John (Marge) Eckenroad and niece, Ann (William) Hittman.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward, a son Paul, sisters, Mary (John) Eckenroad and Margaret Lawler.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery in Land O’Lakes Wisconsin.
