LaNita C Anibas
LaNita C. Anibas, age 63 of Durand, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at Hurlburt’s Haven Adult Day Care in Durand, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
LaNita was born on July 19, 1947 in Durand. She was the daughter of Wilfred F. and Lorraine (Unser) Bauer. LaNita attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Lima High School. She was an active member of band and cheerleading. On April 27, 1968 LaNita married Michael V. Anibas at St. Mary’s in Durand. They farmed in Buffalo County all of her life.
LaNita will always be remembered for putting others first, for her kindness and compassion. She loved to cook, bake, sew, and do crafts. She also taught CCD at Lima for many years and coordinated their religious education program for 25 years and was active in the church. Most of all, LaNita loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
LaNita is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael, her children, Todd (Tina) of Nelson, Shawn (Shelly) of Ettrick and Tricia (Jason) Kahler of Mondovi, six grandchildren, Bryce, Derek, Annaleece, Braden, Dalton and Rachel, four brothers, Dan (Diana) Bauer, Al (Roxe-Ann) Bauer, Keith, Chuck, all of Durand, one sister, Tami (Michael) MacGregor of Prescott, one sister-in-law, Cindy Bauer of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kevin.
