Julius W. Brantner age 89, of Durand died Sunday November 21, 2010 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Julius was born on June 16, 1921 on the family farm in the Township of Albany, Pepin County. He was the son of Leopold and Theresa (Pichler) Brantner and grew up in that community. He married Marie (Black - Fredrickson) on July 2, 1956. Julius worked at Fehr Concrete in Eau Claire, from 1950 to 1986, when he retired.

Julius served on the Senior Citizen Board for six years, and served as president for two years. He also served on the Pepin County Housing Board. Julius was a member of St. Mary’s all his married life and up to his death. Julius was married to Marie for 41 years.

He is survived by two step daughters, Kathleen (Tom) Baker of Vadnais Heights, MN; and Patricia (Jerry) Frion of Maiden Rock; three step sons, James (Kay) Fredrickson of Superior, Bernard (Mary) Fredrickson of Lake Nebagamon, Richard (Marlene) Fredrickson of Evansville; two sons, Timothy (Jennifer) Brantner of Mondovi, Jerry (Maureen) Brantner of Mason City, IA; one sister Helen (Brunner) Poeschel of Durand and one brother, Mark (Rita) Brantner of Eau Claire; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Cecelia Bechel of Arkansaw.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, stepson Bill Fredrickson, parents Leopold and Theresa; three brothers, Richard, Roman and Bernard; one sister Pauline Streveler; two infant brothers Matthew and George; one infant sister Emma, one grandson Joe Fredrickson and great grandson Jared Fredrickson.
